DevOps Engineer – Release Manager

A permanent position in Vienna, Austria, with Cortical.io, a leading startup that lives and breathes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) and which has built up an impressive client portfolio of Fortune 500 companies.

What you’ll be working on

  • Supporting the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of our software
  • Managing availability, scalability, and reliability of production services
  • Analyzing and improving our services and processes, including our release processes
  • Implementing strategies of continuous integration and delivery
  • Automating, automating, and automating

What you must have

  • At least one year’s experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Knowledge of automation and configuration management tools (for example, Chef)
  • Experience with scripting languages (for example, Bash, Ruby, Python)
  • Basic experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (for example, Java, Scala, C/C++, C#)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Work experience with cloud management technologies, specifically with the Amazon Web Services stack
  • Work experience with continuous integration processes and tools (for example, the Jenkins server)
  • Efficiency in collaboration, open communication, and reaching across functional borders
  • Good knowledge and understanding of security
  • Experience with, and understanding of, build tools (for example, Maven, sbt)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Git
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Interest in, and ability to learn, new technologies and methodologies
  • A good working proficiency in written and oral English
  • Good communication skills
  • European Union citizenship or authorization to work in Austria

It would be great if you also had:

  • Three years’ experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Familiarity with the Java virtual machine
  • Experience in automated container deployments, scaling, and management (for example, with Docker, Amazon EC2 Container Service, or Kubernetes
  • Experience with continuous delivery processes and tools
  • Experience with product release cycles
  • Experience in product shipping, deployment, and integration
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Experience in Spark deployment and cluster management
